About this site

Welcome to SSU Games, the home for news and updates from the nationally ranked Game Design programs at Shawnee State University.
We are more than just a program; we are a vibrant community of creators, innovators, and storytellers. This site is our central hub, connecting the past, present, and future of SSU Games. We celebrate the late-night game jams, the brilliant senior capstones, the alumni landing dream jobs, and the faculty breakthroughs that make our community extraordinary.
Why We're Here
Our mission is to connect the entire SSU Games family. We believe the best way to showcase the value of our #1-in-Ohio program is by highlighting the people who bring it to life.
- For Students: See your work featured and get inspired by the paths of those who walked these halls before you.
- For Alumni: Stay connected to your roots and see how the program continues to evolve. Your story inspires the next generation.
- For Faculty & Friends: Get an inside look at the creativity and innovation happening in our labs and classrooms.
The Foundation of Our Success
The stories we share are made possible by a program built for excellence. For the 15th consecutive year, Shawnee State has been named one of The Princeton Review’s Top Undergraduate Schools for Game Design, ranked #15 Nationally and #1 in Ohio in 2025. Our students thrive in two collaborative degree paths:
- B.S. in Digital Simulation & Gaming Engineering Technology (Game Programming)
- B.F.A. in Game & Simulation Arts (Game Arts)
They learn by doing, collaborating in state-of-the-art labs like our Motion Capture Studio and through capstone experiences like the Senior Design Studio.
This is just a glimpse of what our students create. Learn how you can build your future in game development at Shawnee State.
