Chesapeake High School Visit
Our faculty connected with high school students through hands-on game demos. It was a fantastic opportunity to teach them about game development and other technology.

One of my duties as Department Chair is to visit high schools and do similar outreach. Sometimes this is more manufacturing-oriented (CAD, Plastics, Electro-Mechanical), but I always try and sneak in some advertising for the gaming program. On September 10, 2025, I visited Chesapeake High School. In the Manufacturing on the Move trailer, I set up a station where students could play "Delve."

Delve was created by Noah Dean, Gavin Jones, and Christopher Martens (all part of the class of 2023). It's a tough-as-nails, but easy to pick up platformer inspired by games like Celeste (Maddy Makes Games, 2018). It was created in Godot. The team created all the art assets, music for the game. This game was VERY well-received by Chesapeake students.
